What's a Work Order / Service Request?

A Work Order is a task assigned to a maintenance technician. For example, "Replace HVAC filter in Room 201." It typically includes a location, a description of the problem, a status, and a priority.

A Service Request is a request submitted by someone like a building occupant asking for maintenance or assistance. Service requests are usually reviewed and then converted into work orders, and they may also include related locations or assets.

In Mapped and in other external systems, both Work Orders and Service Requests may be referred to as tickets. Your CMMS creates and manages the tickets, while Mapped syncs them between systems.

You can use Mapped GraphQL API to query ticket information. Review queries in our Developer Docs.
