Address validation is enabled by default. Disable address validation in the Advanced Config if you want to ensure that no changes are made to the address you entered. If you disable it:
- Latitude and longitude values are required
- Including in the Street Address (or PO Box), Locality, Region, Postal Code, and Country in the building.Address field is strongly recommended
By default, building address is validated by an address validation service that automatically finds the latitude and longitude based on the address. If the address validation cannot find a longitude and latitude with the provided address, the import may automatically change the address to a similar valid address.
In the Mapped Graph, buildings contributed by different connectors merge on the PostalAddressIdentity. When two buildings share the same address, they will merge into one building, while buildings with different addresses remain separate.
Unintended merged buildings
If two buildings share a similar non-valid address, with address normalization enabled they may be normalized to the same exact address and merge into the same building.
Unintended duplicate buildings
If a building with a non-valid address has address normalization enabled in one connector, but disabled in another, these buildings may not have matching addresses and will remaining separate buildings.
